Qualified translators at your service.
There are approximately 6,900 languages currently spoken around the world, which means that mankind is divided into over 4,000 communities, whose languages each represent a tie between members of the community itself while creating a barrier that keeps each one distinct. Translation is the bridge that allows communication between different communities that are separated by linguistic frontiers.
Accurate, correct translations by experienced language professionals can prevent you or your company from loosing customers’ confidence, getting into trouble due to missed concepts or even from loosing credit within an international environment.
Quality as a top priority
Our translators are highly qualified and experienced. They specialize in a given field and guarantee accurate translations.
The quality policy we follow gets its inspiration from our vision of translation as a linguistic bridge between different communities and aims at:
- Satisfying clients.
- Organizing each translation as a process and not simply as a self-oriented activity.
- Measuring results.
- Sponsoring continuous improvement of both, the translation project and the final to be delivered to the client.
“Quality is never an accident; it is always
the result of high intention, sincere effort,
intelligent direction and skillful execution;
it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.”
William S. Foster
The phases of the translation process
Source text analysis
Each time we approach a text that is to be translated, we need to evaluate the kind of text and its main characteristics by answering, whenever possible, the following questions: who has written its content? When has it been written? Whom does our translation address? What the textual function is? Which register has been used?
Based upon the answers to these questions, the translator will produce a translation that perfectly complies with functional and formal characteristics of the source text.
Translation
The translator assigned to a given project, according to the text to be translated, needs to have the following characteristics:
- Translation expertise.
- Linguistic expertise.
- Research expertise.
- Cultural know-how.
- Technological expertise.
Revision and proofreading
A second translator responsible of the revision and proofreading of the translation will have to verify whether the objectives defined in the analysis phase have been met, guaranteeing the needed stylistic quality according to the source text.
Once after the translation has been sent to the client
The translator will update appropriate translation memories that have been used as well as related translation glossaries in a timely manner. This will allow us to offer added value services as the creation and management of terminology data bases, as well as linguistic and culture counseling services, with the objective of continuously improving quality and addressing clients’ linguistic needs. |
